Did you ever notice how frozen snow can look like a reflective sheet of opaque glass? I especially like the play of light and shadows on a cold winter morning after a snow fall. Everything looks new and crystal clear.

Storm King Train

I finished this painting this weekend. It is Storm King Mountain as seen from Cold Spring on the Hudson River in New York. I wanted to capture the excitement I feel when I am lucky enough to see a freight train going up the Hudson on a snowy day.
